Branden was presented on the clubs website in early February. Branden is from Atlanta, Georgia. This is not the first time in Europe. He played for Solingen Alligators, Germany, last season. Branden has followed the steps of the former Shark Evan Porter twice now. Evan recommended Branden to Solingen. Evan also had influence on Brandens move to Gothenburg.

Branden usually plays outfield and occasionally first base. However, with the Sharks Branden could expect to find himself playing several positions, including catcher.

When the Sharks homepage asks about his view of the Swedish Eliteseries and what to expect he says:

“I’m expecting it to be a pretty competitive, high-energy, and up-tempo pace. Although the level of play won’t be close to uniform across the board, I hope that they will be hard fought games by people who love the sport.”

The club expects Branden to contribute both on and off the field, as player and role model to the younger players.
